Feeling worse on Lexapro?

It's only been the second day on .5mg of Lexapro, but I feel a little worse in the anxiety/depression department. Anyone else had that experience?
Answer:
Unless you are having serious side effects, it is too soon to know if the medication will work for you or not. As with most all antidepressants, it will take a week or two to begin to see results from Lexapro or any other antidepressant.
That can be a type of reaction on any antidepressant. Tell someone close to you so that you are OK until tomorrow and then call your DR immediately and tell them. This means this is not the medication for you... Try a kind that works differently like an SSRI instead of Lexapro.
I am taking celexa the precurser to lexapro. It has been working well for me after going through terrible withdrawals from paxil. No side effects and I don't feel depressed. Were you on another med before Lexapro for depression. I need ativan 1/2 mg twice a day for anxiety along with the celexa. Maybe it isn't going to be the right one for you. 2 days isn't long enough to give it a chance.
