Explain why an obese person have more trouble with lower back problems than a thin person.?

Answer:
iono .. maybe bcuz there obese...duh... more weight to carry .. more pain
Because of the extra weight, there's so much strain on everything - not just the lower back.
because a big persons spine has to carry all that extra weight, butting strain on your back/spine
Just having heavy shoes can be hard on your lower back.
The spine is not meant to hold over weight.
Same reason they have more feet, leg, knee problems..the extra weight.
the weight put pressure on the spine and where it is weak there will be pain.
Their stomach puts weight on the front but most people walk standing straight so that adds tension to the back. While thin people dont have that stomach pulling on the front so their fine.
All of the extra weight that an obese person carries is normally around the abdomen and stomach. The lower back is strained in having to carry the extra weight and keep the body upright.
It would seem that an obese person would have trouble with proper body mechanics for one thing. Besides that, any extra weight puts more pressure on everything, including the back.
it could be the fact that they have so much weight on them that it's too much for the lower back to handle. since a thin person doesnt have much weight as a obese one, theres no problems
I'm not obese but have scoliosis and whenever I gain weight I start feeling pain in my lower back. it's like I was carrying something heavy all the time! the spine cannot adjust to lost of weight.
For every lb. around the abdominal area it applies 7 lbs. of pressure on the lower back.
An obese person has to carry around so much weight all the time...its takes it toll on the ENTIRE body not just the lower back.
Extra weight compresses the spine. It can cause a disc to rupture or bulge. Think of it this way..If you carried around a 50 lb bag of dog food all day everyday, the added weight would hurt your back eventually.
The same reason they are more likely to have trouble with their knees and hips. Their muscles and bones have to handle that excess weight.
the obease person has alot more weight then the skinny person and alot of the fat is directed to the spine. that weans that the spine will have alot of weight on it and will be strained alot more then a skinny person.the skinny person dosent have alot of weight on his spine so that means he is more flexable and will take more power to injure his spine then the obese person.
It probably has to do something with the fact that women with larger breasts also have lower back problems. What I've heard it results from is the fact that, the more weight you have on your chest or front of you has to be balanced somehow to retain your sense of gravity, usually by leaning slightly backwards, a bit more than if you dropped the weight or had smaller breasts. This constant angle of your spine probably puts stress on the vertebrae, resulting in lower back problems.
Obesity and extra weight can cause low back pain Along with other health issues that arise from having an unhealthy weight level, obese and overweight people tend to be jolly yet can turn on you like a wild dog. never ever trust a fat person. avoid them at all cost.
a large stomach and lax abdomen muscles causes the stomach to pull the lower back vertebrae discs forward and out of place.
The muscles are no match for the amount of fat it must lug around. The muscles are attached to the bones, and adding strain to the joints. It's all connected you know.
Do they? The only people I know with back problems are very tall - and very thin. Self-conscious about their height. They stoop a lot. If anyone is more sedentary, they might have back problems, and if that's because they are too heavy, they might be less active or have bad posture. But they might also welcome being obese as a refuge from public attention. Or maybe they wear their clothes too tightly! I think it's a mistake to generalise, though. Women, even when pregnant, have a different centre of gravity. Anyone can be fit and healthy and overweight. Anyone can find one fault in a person, but that may not be the cause of their illness.
their fat puts strain on theie bones and muscles causing them to have constant problems
look take this from a experience person. fat in the stomach area causes strain and sometimes misalignment of the disk of the lower spine. which can lead to arthritis and wearing away of the cartilage in the spine. that causes bone on bone irritation. I know I have this along with other lower spine diseases.
It's more than just the extra weight. It's also a measure of HOW that weight is carried. When most of it is in the belly, it throws the person's center of balance forward. That's why it's easier and more comfortable to carry something like a backpack or a baby on a person's back as opposed to on the stomach. As the center of balance is moved forward, the body accomidates this by displacing the lower back forward as well. This displacement put the extra strain on the lower back, and this results in an increased incidence of low-back pain/problems.
